For over 30 years PTH Francepol has specialised in international cargo transportation and forwarding. The core of our business is transporting general cargo and full truck cargoes within the European Union and Schengen countries. Our company is defined by many years of hard work. Thanks to our persistence, we have transformed our company that used to import and sell citrus fruit into one of the biggest private, family-owned transportation companies in Poland. Our story is as follows.
For our first 6 years, we imported citrus fruit and bananas. At that time, thanks to the increasing demand for these exotic goods, trade was profitable enough to allow the company to thrive, develop, and gather resources for further investments, in spite of limited initial capital.
Our first fleet comprised 2 Scania vehicles. Next, a DAF vehicle was purchased with a concession, and in 1997 the company also bought Renault and MAN vehicles. In the autumn of 1997, we took another significant step forward – the decision was made to buy a 100% stake in Francepol – company based in Łódź with foreign capital. As the result of this investment, the company took over 12 concessions and 12 Renault cars.
The existing facility designed for import and trade was no longer large enough for the developing transportation services. In October the decision was made to purchase a 4 hectare site in Stary Kisielin near Zielona Góra, which after 2 years of rebuilding became the headquarters for Cytropol and Francepol.
As the result of the constant expansion of supermarkets which import citrus fruit on their own, and the decrease in demand for these goods among retail customers, CEO Władysław Jermanowski decided to abandon this area. From then on, Cytropol and Francepol were specifically transportation companies.
At our new headquarters, we rebuild the existing facilities, thus creating over a dozen new jobs for forwarding agents and administrative employees. As the area was big, we designated some of it as a car park for our trucks, we also invested in our own petrol station which was used for our internal needs, and we built our own car service workshop, so we could perform immediate repairs.
Thanks to very good management, both companies expanded and strengthened their market position. This was recognised externally as well. The companies were awarded a certificate of reliability – “Reliable Company”.
Francepol and Cytropol Sp. z o.o. were granted the ISO:9001:2000 certificate for the high quality of all of their work.
The dynamic growth was also recognised by “Puls biznesu” which grants eminent awards – “The Gazelles of Business”. Since the XI edition of this contest, Francepol has been regularly recognised by this magazine.
Between 2009 and 2011 we were granted three LUBUSKIE BUSINESS LEADER certificates.
2016 enabled us to make major changes at our headquarters. For the duration of our office renovation work we moved into containers. This was an interesting experience for our employees, and for us it was a proof that a powerful team can handle all circumstances. After our new head office was completed and the existing office had been rebuilt, a lot of new jobs were created and the comfort of the office space improved.
2017 brought us great recognition when we came first in the Forbes Diamonds ranking in the category of medium companies in the Lubuskie Province. In the following years we managed to appear on the list of Forbes magazine several times.
In 2020 we decided to take another step to grow Francepol and we purchased 50 road trains consisting of trucks with forklifts.
Our experienced staff of forwarding agents currently manages over 400 trucks and deals with the contemporary challenges of the transportation industry. Thanks to around 30 years of experience we are able to solve any issue and adjust our services to customers who expect the best. Our aim for the coming years is to exceed the number of 500 road trains with trucks.
